Inaugural Girls Tournament

CALDY Rugby Club will be holding their inaugural Girls Tournament At Paton field on Saturday 2nd May. It has been sanctioned by the RFU and it is hoped that it will be part of a weekend festival of rugby which includes the Caldy 7ís a senior menís tournament which is now in its 66th Year. We are trying to develop girls Rugby on the Wirral , which is in Cheshire near to Liverpool. And we would like to attract as many sides as possible to come and enjoy the day and perhaps stay over and watch the rest of the tournament. Can you please include the press release below so we can reach as many clubs as possible who might be interested.

New this year Ė the Caldy Girls Northern 10s festival

FOR the first time, the Caldy Sevens will be accompanied by a 10-a-side girls rugby event on Saturday May 2.

The festival is set to feature eight teams at under 15 and under 18 level, from across the country.

Caldy girls manager Pat Parkinson said it should be a great day.

We are also going to put on a taster session on for any girl who would like to try the sport.

"This has been a great season for the girls section and the festival would cap it off nicely," he added. "I know from taking our team to similar events that it is a great chance to enjoy the game and make some new friends too."

"If any girls teams fancy coming down to play, they would receive a warm welcome at Caldy."
